Deion Burks at Jackson

Students at Jackson Elementary had a morning they will never forget when Oklahoma Sooners wide receiver Deion Burks visited their school. Sponsored by DM Injury Law, Burks spent time in four classrooms where he answered questions and encouraged students as they kicked off a new school year.

In each classroom, two students were selected through a random drawing to receive an autographed football. In addition, every classroom at Jackson received a signed photo of Burks to remember the special day.

Thanks to the generosity of DM Injury Law, Norman Public Schools also received 500 fully stocked backpacks. These supplies will benefit students at Jackson as well as children across the district, ensuring many have the tools they need to succeed this school year.

When asked why he believes young people are drawn to athletes and what this donation meant, Burks explained, ‘I feel like a lot of kids see you on TV, and they don’t really think it’s reality until they meet you in person. When they do, it’s like, Wow, a football player! As a kid, I was fascinated with football players too, so I understand their excitement. This event was such a great feeling for me. I’m thankful to DM Injury Law for putting it together and sponsoring it. Seeing the kids’ smiles and being part of something that gives back to the community truly meant a lot.’”

Jackson Elementary Principal Gina Bolding said the visit left a lasting impression. “We are deeply grateful for Deion’s visit today and for DM Injury Law’s generous sponsorship. His time with our students and the gift of school supplies made them feel seen, supported, and inspired. They will never forget this day, and it meant the world to our school community.”
