Norman Public Schools is proud to announce that Holly Nevels, Associate Superintendent and Chief Human Resources Officer, has been named the 2026 Oklahoma Association of School Administrators (OASA) District 7 Assistant Superintendent/Central Office Administrator of the Year.
Nevels will be recognized at the Cooperative Council for Oklahoma School Administration (CCOSA) Summer Leadership Conference, held May 27–29, 2026.
The OASA annually recognizes outstanding administrators who demonstrate excellence in educational leadership, a strong and dynamic philosophy of education, and a commitment to supporting and inspiring others. Recipients are selected by their peers and must exhibit continued professional growth, effective communication at all levels, and meaningful contributions to the field of educational administration.
“Holly Nevels exemplifies the very best of educational leadership,” Superintendent Dr. Nick Migliorino said. “Her commitment to students, staff, and families, along with her ability to lead with both vision and integrity, makes a lasting impact across our district. This recognition is well deserved.”
Nevels is a career educator in Norman Public Schools, having served the district as both a teacher and administrator. Her leadership experience also includes serving as Principal of Whittier Middle School and Assistant Principal at Norman High School.
She began her career teaching English/Language Arts at Irving Middle School, where she taught for eight years. In 2000, she was named Norman Public Schools District Teacher of the Year, and in 2007, she was recognized as Oklahoma Assistant Principal of the Year by the Cooperative Council of Oklahoma School Administrators (CCOSA).
Nevels earned both her bachelor’s degree in secondary language arts education and her master’s degree in educational administration, curriculum, and supervision from the University of Oklahoma.
She credits the success of the district to its people. “This recognition reflects the incredible people of Norman Public Schools,” Nevels said. “I’m honored to work alongside dedicated educators, leaders, and staff who are deeply committed to our students and to one another. Their passion and commitment are what drive our success.”
OASA is divided into 20 geographic districts representing school administrators across Oklahoma. Members are nominated and selected by their peers within each region.
