A new school year is almost here, and that means a new group of teachers is getting ready to step into classrooms across Norman Public Schools.
Our Instructional Coaching Team spent the day with the incredible mentors and site liaisons who will be there to help them every step of the way.
Mentors will be paired with new teachers throughout the year, while site liaisons will lead monthly new teacher meetings and serve as another friendly face and source of support at each school.
There were lots of great conversations, shared experiences and ideas throughout the day, all focused on one thing: helping our newest teachers feel welcomed, supported and ready for a great year.
We're grateful for these teacher leaders who are investing their time and experience in the next generation of NPS educators.

Monday morning, football coaches and players from Norman High and Norman North spent their time giving back by helping neighbors clear tree limbs and storm debris following the recent storms.
Their actions reflect something bigger than football. Both programs are committed to developing young men of character who lead through service, teamwork and compassion. Supporting the community that supports them is what truly matters.
Thank you to our student-athletes and coaches for stepping up, lending a hand and making a difference. We are proud of the way both teams continue to represent Norman Public Schools on and off the field.
