Norman North High School head baseball coach Brian Aylor has been selected for induction into the Oklahoma Baseball Coaches Association (OBCA) Hall of Fame, recognizing a coaching career spanning more than two decades at Norman North and including hundreds of wins, championships, and numerous individual honors.

The OBCA Hall of Fame selection is conducted annually. The association’s quadrant representatives and former OBCA presidents nominate candidates and then vote. Nominees can remain on the ballot for up to five years before they are no longer eligible for consideration.

Aylor has served as the head baseball coach at Norman North since 2004-05, making the 2026 season his 23rd year leading the program.

"I’m extremely honored to be selected for the OBCA Hall of Fame,” Aylor said. “There are so many great coaches who have been a part of Oklahoma baseball, and to be recognized alongside them is very special to me. I'm blessed beyond measure for my family who has been by my side through it all. I am thankful for all of the players, coaches, families and the Norman Community who have been such a big part of this journey.”

During his tenure at Norman North, Aylor has led the Timberwolves to seven regional championships and state tournament appearances, along with seven conference or district championships. His teams have produced 23 OBCA All-State players and 17 OSSAA Distinguished Academic Award winners. Norman North finished as the Class 6A state runner-up in 2013.

Aylor has accumulated 517 wins as a head baseball coach in Class 6A and has earned numerous coaching honors, including Region 5 Coach of the Year five times, District 6A-2 Coach of the Year four times, Mid-State Conference Coach of the Year three times, Norman Athletic Association Coach of the Year twice and OBCA Field of the Year seven times. He was also named the Ferguson Jenkins Coach of the Year, Daily Oklahoman Big All-City Coach of the Year and OCABCA Coach of the Year.

Before beginning his coaching career, Aylor played professional baseball for the New York Yankees from 1996-99 after being selected in the seventh round of the 1996 MLB Draft. He played four seasons before retiring.

Outside of his work at Norman North, Aylor has remained active in Oklahoma baseball. He has served as the Director of Operations for RISIN Baseball since 2020 and has operated North Baseball Camps/Academy Baseball since 2004. The camps have grown from 25 participants in their first year to more than 500 attendees.

The OBCA Hall of Fame selection adds another distinction to a coaching career defined by sustained success, player development and more than two decades of service to Norman North baseball.
