Fifteen Norman Public Schools students have earned national recognition through the College Board’s AP Capstone program for the 2025-26 school year.
Four Norman High School graduates, Ann McMillan-Odom, Henry Moen, Landon Slate and Sophia Stoops, along with 11 Norman North High School students, Abigail Jankowski, Colby Nguyen, Hudson Hart, Trinket Hand, Elizabeth Shannon, Hannah Joo, Isabella Cuellar, Stella Lawson, Sofia Stegmann, Ann-Maureen Liggett and Lilian Williford, earned the AP Capstone Diploma™.
The AP Capstone program is one of the most rigorous academic distinctions offered by the College Board. The program equips students with advanced research, analysis and communication skills through the two-course sequence of AP Seminar and AP Research. These courses challenge students to think critically and independently while exploring topics of personal and global significance.
Students who earn the AP Capstone Diploma demonstrate their ability to conduct independent research, analyze information from multiple perspectives and communicate their findings effectively. The program provides students with skills that can benefit them throughout college and their future careers.
“Earning the AP Capstone Diploma is a tremendous accomplishment that reflects the dedication, curiosity and perseverance of these students,” Director of Secondary Teaching and Learning Dr. Kristi Gray said. “They have challenged themselves to think deeply, conduct meaningful research and communicate their ideas with purpose. We are proud of the work they have put in and excited to see how they carry these skills into their next chapter.”
The AP Capstone Diploma is awarded to students who earn scores of three or higher in AP Seminar and AP Research and complete four additional AP courses of their choosing.
