The Norman Public Schools Board of Education has approved two leadership appointments for the 2026-2027 school year, welcoming a new principal to Adams Elementary and Kennedy Elementary.
Ms. Miranda Steward has been named the next principal of Adams Elementary, replacing longtime principal Patty Thomason. Thomason spent 26 of her 28 years in education at Adams serving as teacher, instructional coach and building administrator. The district thanks Patty Thomason for her dedication and service to the students and families of Norman Public Schools.
Miranda brings 12 years of experience in Norman Public Schools to her leadership role. She began her career at Eisenhower Elementary School, where she served as an elementary teacher from 2014 to 2021, teaching first, third and fifth grades. In 2022, she was named assistant principal at Kennedy Elementary, where she demonstrated strong instructional leadership and a commitment to student success.
Following her success at Kennedy, Steward transitioned to Adams Elementary School in 2025. She will assume the role of principal at Adams Elementary School beginning in the 2026–2027 school year, continuing her dedication to fostering a positive learning environment and supporting student achievement.
Ms. Jenny Crow has been named principal at Kennedy Elementary, replacing Amber Bui. Bui served NPS for 26 years as an elementary classroom teacher, counselor and as Director of Transportation for 3 years before becoming a building leader. NPS thanks Amber Bui for her service and commitment to the students, staff and families of our district.
Jenny brings more than 20 years of experience in public education to her leadership career. She began her tenure with Norman Public Schools in 2005 at Madison Elementary School and also served as an assistant high school swim coach for five years. In 2017, she moved to Kennedy Elementary School, earned her master’s degree in school administration and was named a finalist for District Teacher of the Year.
Crow went on to serve as an assistant principal in Shawnee Public Schools before returning to Norman Public Schools in 2022 as assistant principal at Cleveland Elementary. She has been serving as principal of Cleveland Elementary since the fall of 2024.
Crow will assume the role of principal at Kennedy Elementary School beginning in the 2026–2027 school year, continuing her commitment to student achievement and strong school leadership.
