Norman Public Schools proudly announces that Family Engagement Coordinator Carla Atkinson has been named Volunteer of the Year by the Norman Chamber of Commerce, recognizing her outstanding dedication, leadership and service to the Norman community.
The Norman Chamber relies on volunteers who serve on committees, help plan events and provide leadership on the Board of Directors. Honorees are selected based on their commitment, passion and meaningful impact. Atkinson’s extensive involvement exemplifies those qualities.
Atkinson has served as Leadership Norman Co-Chair and currently serves on the Leadership Advisory Committee. She also plays an integral role on the Chamber’s Business & Education Committee and supports the Partners in Education program, helping strengthen connections between local businesses and schools. In addition, she actively participates in numerous Chamber networking and membership events throughout the year.
“Carla is a huge asset to the Chamber and our community,” Scott Martin, President & CEO of the Norman Chamber of Commerce, said. “She is a Norman original and always willing to step up. We have been blessed to experience her leadership and passion in our Leadership programs and is an integral part of our Business and Education Committee, particularly as we work to create meaningful career connections between students and businesses. She actively looks for ways to give back, and it was our honor to name her our Volunteer of the Year.”
Atkinson said the recognition reflects the collaborative spirit of the Norman community.
“It is truly an honor to be named Volunteer of the Year,” Atkinson said. “Norman is a special place because of the people who are willing to invest their time and energy into making it better. I’m grateful to work alongside dedicated Chamber members, business leaders and educators who are committed to supporting our students and strengthening our community.”
Norman Public Schools celebrates Atkinson’s recognition and thanks her for her continued leadership and commitment to fostering strong partnerships between education and business in Norman.
