Norman Public Schools Director of Transportation Jesse Hill has been named the Oklahoma Association for Pupil Transportation (OKAPT) 2025-2026 Director of the Year, recognizing his outstanding leadership, professionalism and service to students, staff and the community.
The OKAPT Administrator of the Year Award honors exceptional transportation administrators who exemplify leadership, integrity and dedication to student transportation. Recipients are recognized for their ability to lead with consistency, communicate effectively and ensure students are transported in a safe, efficient and secure environment.
Hill oversees the daily operations of Norman Public Schools' transportation department, working alongside drivers, monitors and staff to provide safe and reliable transportation for thousands of students each year.
"Jesse's commitment to student safety, operational excellence and servant leadership is evident in everything he does," Associate Superintendent and Chief Operating Officer Justin Milner said. "He has built a culture of professionalism and teamwork within our transportation department while always keeping the needs of students and families at the center of his work. This recognition is a reflection of the positive impact he makes not only in Norman Public Schools, but also highlights the positive influence he has had on colleagues and fellow transportation leaders throughout Oklahoma."
According to OKAPT, the award recognizes administrators who go above and beyond for Oklahoma's pupil transportation industry and who faithfully serve their teams, students and communities with excellence.
Hill's leadership has helped strengthen transportation services across the district while maintaining a focus on safety, accountability and customer service for students and families.
