Norman Public Schools (NPS) will open Pre-K enrollment for the 2026–2027 school year on Monday, February 16, providing families with an important opportunity to begin their child’s educational journey in a supportive and engaging learning environment.
NPS Pre-K programs focus on early literacy, social-emotional development, and school readiness through developmentally appropriate instruction led by highly qualified educators. Families with eligible children are encouraged to complete the Pre-K Placement Form anytime between February 16th through March 6th. The form will close at 4 pm on March 6th.
“Pre-K is where a child’s love of learning really begins,” said Jaylynn Richardson, Early Childhood & Elementary Programs Coordinator for Norman Public Schools. “It’s a place where children grow socially, emotionally, and academically through play, connection, and meaningful experiences. We want families to feel excited and confident as they take this first step on their child’s educational journey, and our enrollment events give them the chance to ask questions, explore their options, and feel supported every step of the way.”
To support families through the enrollment process, Norman Public Schools will host several community open houses and information events throughout February. These events offer in-person assistance with completing the Pre-K Placement Form, opportunities to learn more about available programs, and time to ask questions. No advance sign-up is required.
