Six Norman North High School students have earned national recognition through the College Board’s AP Capstone program for the 2024-25 school year. Three students — Hudson Hart, Colby Nguyen and Elizabeth Shannon — and graduate Katherine Hsieh received the AP Capstone Diploma™, while Katie Hand and Abigail Jankowski earned the AP Seminar and Research Certificate™.
The AP Capstone program is one of the most rigorous academic distinctions offered by the College Board. During the 2024-25 school year, more than 160,000 students from over 3,500 schools worldwide participated, with only a fraction earning these top honors.
“We proudly recognize the achievements of students who participated in the AP Capstone Diploma program,” Director of Gifted, Advanced Programs and College and Career Readiness Dr. Kristi Gray said. “With the help of dedicated teachers, our AP Capstone students explored their passions through scholarly research in an impactful, multi-year program. This meaningful college readiness program will serve our students well after high school.”

The AP Capstone program equips students with advanced research, analysis and communication skills through the two-course sequence of AP Seminar and AP Research. These courses challenge students to think critically and independently while exploring topics of personal and global significance.
