Kendall Still named Whittier Middle School Principal
The Norman Board of Education has approved the district’s recommendation to hire Kendall Still to serve as principal at Whittier Middle School.
Mr. Still, who will move to Oklahoma from Texas to assume the position, most recently was the principal at West Ridge Middle School in the Eanes Independent School District. In this role, he developed a support plan for incoming students, implemented a collaborative professional development program and effectively served students while maintaining a balanced budget.
Prior to becoming principal at West Ridge Middle School, Still was an Assistant Principal at Rick Reedy High School in Frisco, Texas, where he strengthened connections with incoming staff and initiated various intervention programs to support student success. Still also has served as an assistant principal at Liberty High School in Frisco and has taught middle and high school Social Studies courses.
“We are excited to welcome Mr. Still to our district,” said Dr. Nick Migliorino, superintendent of the Norman Public School District. “His leadership skills, coupled with his extensive teaching experience and knowledge of project-based learning will be a tremendous benefit to Whittier students, parents and staff.”
Still is a member of Phi Alpha Theta, which is an international honor society for History, the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development, and the National Association of Secondary School Principals. He holds a bachelor’s degree in education from the University of Central Oklahoma and earned a master’s degree in Educational Administration from Emporia State University. He replaces Gayla Mears, who recently was selected to serve as the district’s Special Services director.
