Schools closed Friday, Feb. 25

WHAT TO KNOW

  • Due to inclement weather and continued hazardous travel conditions, schools will be closed Friday, Feb. 25.
  • This will be a traditional snow day and no instruction will take place for students.
  • All school activities are canceled Friday, Feb. 25

Parents,

We remain in close contact with our partners at the National Weather Service in Norman and at Weather Decision Technologies. With frigid temperatures expected to persist, road conditions are expected to remain hazardous through the end of the week.

As a result, schools will be closed Friday, Feb. 25. This will be a traditional snow day and no instruction will take place for students. Additionally, all school activities Friday are canceled. Coaches and sponsors will be in touch with their individual groups and teams with details.

As we communicated earlier in the week, this is our last remaining built-in snow day. Any additional school closures for the rest of the school year will require adjustments to the academic calendar. We are hopeful to avoid such a scenario and will likely utilize remote learning should it become necessary.

We are grateful for the hard work of our teachers and staff to provide engaging online learning opportunities over the past two days. We also understand and appreciate the work our parents and families do to help their students make the most of these remote learning days. Thank you all for your support and patience.
