The Norman Public School District has named Kim Hutchinson as the new principal at Longfellow Middle School. Hutchinson, who has been with the district for three years, previously served as assistant principal for Longfellow.
“We are thrilled to see Kim take the reins at Longfellow,” said Superintendent Dr. Nick Migliorino. “From the minute she came to Norman she has been a passionate and energetic leader for her students and colleagues. Having a talented and qualified educator like Kim, who was already on staff at Longfellow, step into this role will provide the necessary consistency and stability to continue the great work that is being done at the school.”
Prior to her arrival in Norman, Hutchinson worked in the Amarillo Independent School District in Amarillo, Texas for 14 years. She served as an assistant principal at the elementary and middle school levels for four years, worked as a curriculum assessment specialist for five years and spent the first five years of her education career as a classroom teacher at the elementary level.
Hutchinson is a graduate of Texas Christian University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education in 2003. She went on to earn a master’s degree in education administration from West Texas A&M University in 2008.
