NPS All-City Band and Orchestra Concert Information

Norman Public Schools will present the 58th Annual All-City Band and Orchestra Concert. These Concerts begin at 7:30 p.m. and will be held at Lloyd Noble Center on the campus of the University of Oklahoma. Each concert will feature approximately 1,000 plus students currently enrolled in band or orchestra classes from Norman High, Norman North, as well as Alcott, Irving, Longfellow and Whittier Middle Schools.

Monday, March 26, 2018 at 7:30 p.m. 

The All-City Band Concert will feature a wide variety of music including “Star Wars, The Force Awakens” by John Williams, “Escape from Chronopolis” by Reber Clark and “It’s All Right With Me” by Alan Baylock, performed by the high school jazz bands and all band students will combine to perform “American Testament” arranged by Jerry N. Smith, as the finale.

The concert will be conducted by NPS Band Directors: Seth Coleman, Dr. Martha Griffith, Heather Bellows, Joel Deardorf, Trent Davis, Stephen Meiller, Jared Van Vickle and Roger Nunn.

Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at 7:30 p.m. 

The All-City Orchestra Concert will also include fifth grade students in the beginning string program from every elementary school. Students will perform a range of musical styles including “Grease!” by Casey and Jacobs, Soon Hee Newbold’s “Warrior Legacy” and “Sailor’s Song” by Mark Williams.

The Orchestra Concert will be led by NPS Orchestra Directors: Dawn Thrailkill, Steve Waddell, Becky Green, Brenda Wagner, Mark Osborn, Sarah Chan, Rob Bradshaw and Marty Dalton.

All orchestra students will combine to perform “Cats” arranged by Jerry Smith.

For both performances tickets are $4.00 for adults, available the night of the performance (CASH ONLY) or via the online payment portal here. There is no charge for students PreK-12th grade. NPS Faculty passes, VIP and Norman Instrumental Music Parents Association members will be admitted free. 

Tickets go on sale at 6:15 p.m. the night of each performance. On Monday evening, only the East entrance to Lloyd Noble will be open. Tuesday evening, both the East and North entrances will be available for entry. Lloyd Noble Security will screen purses, bags and other items of audience members before entering the arena.
