Pre-K Enrollment Information
Norman Public Schools will be offering full-day Pre-K for the 2026-2027 school year at all elementary schools, the Intergenerational Pre-K Program at Grace Skilled Nursing and Therapy, Pre-K at the Center for Arts and Learning, and Pre-K at the Spanish Language Academy.
Building Blocks features both in-class and at-home learning in a hybrid model.
Hours for full-day programs are as follows:
Pre-K at school sites (including Spanish Language Academy) is held from 7:50 am - 2:50 pm
Pre-K at the Center for Arts and Learning and Grace's Intergenerational Pre-K Program are held from 8:15 am - 3:15 pm
Additionally, any parent can request that their child attend for a half-day in any of our full-day classes. Half-day hours are from 7:50 - 10:30 am at our school sites and 8:15 - 10:45 am at our off-site classes which include Grace's Intergenerational Pre-K and Pre-K at the Center for Arts and Learning.
Each Pre-K classroom has an educator certified in Early Childhood Education with a maximum class size of 10 students per teacher. Class numbers will be increased only if 15 or more students request enrollment. At 15 students, an aide would be added, and the total class size could range from 15 to 20. No class will have more than 20 students.
Since Pre-K is a voluntary program, TRANSPORTATION IS NOT PROVIDED.
STUDENTS MUST BE FOUR (4) ON OR BEFORE SEPTEMBER 1, 2026.
*** INFORMATION FOR THE 2026-2027 SCHOOL YEAR***
Beginning February 16, 2026, parents who are interested in enrolling their child in a Pre-K class should go to the district website to complete a Pre-K Placement Form. The placement request form will close at 4:00 pm on Friday, March 6, 2026. After this date, please call the Early Childhood Office at 405-366-0531 for more information about requesting a Pre-K placement for the 2026-2027 school year. (Note: You will not turn in documents like the birth certificate, immunization record, etc. during this phase. That will de done after you have received a placement and complete the official enrollment form.)
Parents will complete the Pre-K Placement Form, indicating their preference for enrollment placement. Forms may be completed immediately or will be accepted until 4:00 pm on Friday, March 6, 2026.
Class lists will be available on the NPS website by 4:00 pm on March 27, 2026. A list of students' names (first name, last initial only) will be posted by school site. Parents will also be notified by the provided email address regarding their child's enrollment.
After notification, families will confirm their child's enrollment placement by completing enrollment online. To complete the online enrollment, you must have a birth certificate, immunization record, and a proof of residency. Online enrollment must be completed online by April 24, 2026, or the student's place will be forfeited.
If the number of students exceeds the number of places available for enrollment at a school, a drawing will take place. Norman Public Schools reserves the right to close enrollment and place the remaining applicants on a waiting list.
If you have completed the Pre-K Placement Form and your child is not selected for your site preference, you have the opportunity to enroll at another site with availability.
All state-required immunizations must be in process by the first day of school.
All applicants' names will be maintained on class lists at the Administrative Services Center.
Confirmation of enrollment is required for all Pre-K students.
Enrollment will not be accepted unless all enrollment requirements for Norman Public Schools are met.
