About Me

My name is Tiffany Toquinto, formerly Tiffany Toquinto. This is my sixteenth year as the librarian at Truman Elementary. I worked for the Pioneer Library System for four years prior to this. I love my job and all the fabulous kids I get to know.

I grew up in Newcastle, OK. I am the middle of seven children. I have two brothers and four sisters. All of my siblings live in Oklahoma, but our family has gotten so big that we only all get together a couple of times a year.

I’m an OU graduate. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and a Master’s degree in Library and Information Studies. I decided to become a librarian when I was an undergraduate. I took Children’ Literature by correspondence (the precursor to online classes!) I just LOVED that class. My instructor—that I never met—asked if I’d ever considered becoming a librarian. Well, I never had even though I had volunteered in my public library as a teen. I looked into the field and got really excited.

I have three boys. Ben, Matthew and Nathan are all adults and off doing adult things. I'm married to my Army vet husband, Darrell Toquinto. I have three bonus daughters and six bonus grandkids.
