2025 Strategic Plan Survey Results

Norman Public Schools continues to measure progress toward the goals outlined in our 2022–2027 Strategic Plan. Each year, families, staff, students, and community members are invited to share feedback through a districtwide perception survey. The results help us track growth, celebrate successes, and identify areas for improvement across our six key pillars: Teaching and Learning, Culture of Belonging, Safety and Security, Improved Communication, Recruiting and Retaining Staff, and Maximizing the Budget.

Strong Participation
This year, more than 10,000 voices were represented in the survey, the largest response since the plan began. Participation increased in every group, including parents, staff, community members, and middle and high school students.

Highlights from the 2025 Survey

  • Teaching and Learning – More than 90 percent of high school students and 89% of middle school students say they are gaining the academic skills needed to succeed at the next grade level. Opportunities to explore areas of interest and career pathways continue to receive strong support.

  • Culture of Belonging – A majority of adults and students report feeling respected and supported, with steady scores in areas such as student well-being and empathy for different perspectives. They also express high satisfaction with how creativity is modeled and nurtured as part of a well-rounded education.

  • Safety and Security – Confidence in school safety remains high, with 95 percent of staff, 90 percent of parents, and over 90 percent of students agreeing that School Resource Officers contribute to a safe environment.

  • Communication – Nine out of ten adults agree that district communications are timely and effective, and nearly the same percentage believe student and staff successes are well celebrated.

  • Recruit and Retain – Staff report strong opportunities for professional growth and recognition, while both parents and students affirm that teachers reflect the diverse backgrounds of the community.

  • Maximize the Budget – Adults, parents, and students continue to recognize the district’s commitment to aligning resources with school goals.

Looking Ahead
The survey is given annually through 2027, providing year-over-year comparisons that guide decision-making and keep the community informed. Together, we are working to prepare and inspire all students to achieve their full potential.
