NPS Fine Arts Facilities
Norman Public Schools is proud to offer two premier venues dedicated to enriching student learning through the arts: the Center for Arts and Learning and the Nancy O’Brian Center for the Performing Arts. Together, these state-of-the-art facilities support dynamic fine arts education and provide spaces where students and the community can experience the power of performance, creativity, and innovation.
The Center for Arts and Learning, featuring the 1,500-seat Benson Auditorium and a cutting-edge curved LED screen, is the district’s newest hub for immersive arts and academic experiences. The Nancy O’Brian Center, home to the 1,200-seat John Clinton Theatre and a 200-seat Studio Theatre, has long served as the showcase venue for student performances and community events.
These spaces reflect NPS’s commitment to excellence in education, the arts, and opportunity for all.
Center for the Performing Arts
The Nancy O’Brian Center for the Performing Arts is the premier performance venue for Norman Public Schools, located on North Stubbeman Avenue adjacent to Norman North High School. This state-of-the-art facility features the 1,200-seat John Clinton Theatre, a 200-seat Studio Theatre and fully equipped Scene and Costume Shops.
Designed as a district-wide resource, the Center was created to support and enhance arts education by offering curriculum-connected experiences that go beyond what is possible in a traditional classroom setting.
In addition to serving NPS students, the Center also functions as a vibrant performance and event venue for the Norman community and Central Oklahoma region. While its primary purpose is to host student-centered fine arts events, the facility is also available for outside rentals when not in use for district programming.
Center for Arts and Learning
The Center for Arts and Learning is the official name of our all-school auditorium building—an inspiring space where creativity and education converge. Approved by the Norman Public Schools Board of Education on June 3, 2024, the name was thoughtfully selected by the District Facility Naming Committee to reflect our commitment to both artistic expression and academic achievement.
Spanning over 60,000 square feet, the Center includes the 1,500-seat Benson Auditorium, classrooms, and administrative offices. At its heart is a state-of-the-art 57-foot wide, curved LED screen, offering an immersive visual experience that makes it the most advanced public school theater in the state.
Located in Norman, Oklahoma—home to the University of Oklahoma—the Center is part of the Norman Public School District, the seventh-largest district in the state. NPS is known for its academic excellence, vibrant fine arts programs, outstanding athletics, and dedication to helping every student reach their full potential.
