Meet the Librarian
Hello, All-Stars!
My name is Dana Phillips, and I’m absolutely thrilled to be the new librarian at Adams Elementary! This school year marks my 31st year in education—a journey that began in Oklahoma City, where I served as both a classroom teacher and a librarian. For the past 11 years, I’ve been proud to be part of the Norman Public Schools family, and I’m excited to start this new chapter with you at Adams.
I attended the University of Central Oklahoma, where I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and Early Childhood Development. Later, I continued my education at the University of Oklahoma, earning my Master’s Degree in Library and Information Studies.
A little about me: I’m happily married and have three amazing adult children. At home, I have a playful rat terrier named Pepper, and soon, the Adams Library will have a special guest—my leopard gecko, Lily, who will make her home right here in the library!
The library has always been my happy place, and I can’t wait to share that joy with the students and families of Adams. Together, we’ll explore, discover, and celebrate the magic of reading and learning. If you ever have questions or just want to say hello, feel free to reach out to me at danap@normanps.org.
Let’s make it a fantastic year, All-Stars!
