Scholarships

    • Discover Student Loans Scholarship Program offers a number of awards.  Students and parents can both register until December 31. https://scholarship.collegecovered.com/do/rules  Discover® Student Loans is giving away $100,000 in scholarships. Students can get tips and resources on paying for college and enter for a chance to win a $2,500 scholarship award.  No purchase or student loan necessary.  Enter now at CollegeCovered.com/Assist


    • Heratio Alger Scholarship Program is for students of modest means who have overcome life obstacles.  Find out more at scholars.horatioalger.org


    • The Wendy's Heisman High School Scholarship provides state winners with $1000 scholarships and 8 national finalists receive $5000  scholarship and 2 National winners will receive $10,000 scholarships.  wendyheisman.com  Students must have a GPA of 3.0, participate in at least one school sport, and demonstrate leadership at school and in the community.  


    • QuestBridge National College Match connects students from low-income backgrounds with full 4 year scholarships to leading colleges.  This is for students from the top of their class, who scored greater than 1310 on the SAT or 28 on the ACT.  Student may be on free or reduced lunch and family income is less than $65,000.  Students may be the first generation to attend college.  If this sounds like a good opportunity go to www.questbridge.org  and are due by September 27.

    • Bryan Scholars Program at Davidson College is for scholar athletes with outstanding academics, leadership, and strong athletic potential.  If you are interested see your counselor  Nominations must be submitted by Sept 20.

    • Wesleyan University in Connecticut is offering the Wesleyan University Hamilton Prize for Creativity.  IT is a 4 year fulltuition scholarship worth more than $200,000 Applications are due by Jan. 1.  wesleyan.edu/hamiltonprize

    • Wichita State has several scholarships including the Distinguished Scholarship Invitational worth up to $60,000.. you must apply by Oct. 15-have a 3.5 GPA, ACT of 27 or SAT of 1280  Wichita.Edu/ScholarshipCompetitions   Another one is the W.Frank Barton School of Business Allen,Gibbs & Houlik L.C. Scholarship worth up to $48,000  Klose Scholars is for the College of Education and worth up to $33,000  ACT of 24, SAT of 1160 and GPA of 3.5  There are many others available at the link!

    • Interested in MIT  THere will be an information meeting on Sept 28 at 7:00 pm  at Oklahomas School of Science and Mathematics. mitadmissions.org/visit/travel


    • University of Oklahoma has American Indian Visitation Day on Sept. 1, Senior Visit Days Sept. 15, Oct. 20, Nov. 19, and Dec. 8  Scholars Day is Oct. 6  First Sooner for First generation students is Oct 19 in OKC and Nov 7 in TUlsa.  ou.edu/go2/events


    • Norman Lion's Club will recognize one student each month between November and March.  Applications are due by the end of September.  Students need to exhibit academic skills, civic leadership, and extracurricular activities.  Winners will attend the Lions Club lunches during their month.  At the final meeting they will bring a parent or teach where they will recive a check for $100   Applicaitions must include a resume that highlight all of your strengths. The lunch meetings will be at the First Presbyterian Curch.  Submit your resume in word documet or rich text format to Bryan Hapke via email to bryan.hapke@gmail.com

    • Seton Hall will host Open House events on October 15, Nov 19, Feb. 18, and April 22 to visit campus.  Students who apply by Jan 15 will qualify for scholarships.

    • University of Science and Arts in Chickasha is having an Open House on Sat. Sept 16 from 1-4 and lunch will be served.  You may register at https://usao.edu/openhouse2017  This a great liberal arts school and it is close to home.

    • Rice University wants to remind students that December is the last month to take ACT or SAT for admissions.
