You Should Know...

    • STUDENT DRIVERS: The gravel lot south of the building is for staff only, student parking may result in tickets or towing


       

    • The library makerspace will be open during both lunches every Tuesday for you to make and create starting today. A different maker tool will be featured and you will have chance to use the ones you’ve been trained on how to use. We have a 3D printer, virtual reality goggles, cricut vinyl cutter, and more!


       

    • If you have a schedule correction, you must fill out a schedule correction form. They are located at the front desk in the main office. You do NOT need to sign up to see your counselor to change your schedule. No schedule corrections will be made without a schedule correction form that is SIGNED BY A PARENT. Students who have submitted a schedule correction request on the required form should check their student portal schedule within 24-48 hours for updates. Counselors are processing requests as quickly as possible. The last day to request a schedule correction is TOMORROW, Jan. 16.


       

    • All concurrent students need to turn in a final transcript from last semester to Mrs. Trusley in the Registrar’s office, no later than Friday, January 18th.


       

    • Cookie Days this week are today and Friday


    • Items of the week at The North Place - Delicious Hot Chocolate  - Small $1.50 and Large for $2.00. Try our new Country Meat Sticks in 6 amazing flavors for only $1 each.


       

    • If you are on the Free and Reduced Lunch Program, please stop by the Norman North Food Pantry, located in N 115-A.   The Food Pantry is open every Thursday and Friday during both lunches. If you are not on the Free and Reduced Lunch Program but are in need of food at home, please stop by the Nurse’s Office, S-400.



Club News

    • The debate and competitive acting team took 2nd place in both qualifying and championship divisions at the Crossings tournament last weekend. The following students won regional qualifications and medals: Evin Hughes, Audrey Yip, Lazo Stevenson, Zoe Hamilton, Gracie Farley, Shay Cook, Hailey Foust, Ainsley Brockman, Mya Cobb, Jordan Burks, Anwen We nger, Jacob Gray, Emily Turner, Kenna Attaway, Avi Daison, Andrew Gafford, Simon LaFramboise, Nick Papavassiliou, and Raiyan Siddique. Way to go, guys! (please attach photos that were emailed)


    • Math Team will participate in the OML competition today at lunch on 1-15 in S218.  Please plan to be ready by 12:15.


    • The Mu Alpha Theta math club meeting is tomorrow, January 16th at overtime in S214.


    • German club will meet this Thursday, January 17th during overtime in Frau Rex’s room C101.


    • GEMS club will meet tomorrow, January 16th, during lunch, in Mrs. Baugher's room N307.  We will do an activity and will also sign the DCA list for the Science Magic Show


    • Got an unpopular opinion?  Would you like a platform to express your thoughts? Come visit us in the NNHS Unpopular Politics Club every Wednesday,starting tomorrow, at 4:15 p.m. in S502

       
    • Save the date! Next Sunday evening, January 20th, there will be a Total Lunar Eclipse visible in Norman. For those of us in the central Oklahoma time zone, it will begin at 8:36 p.m. CST - LOCAL TIME. Best times to observe will be will from 9:30 (totally begins around 10:45 p.m. and last until just before midnight!). Join us at OU’s Sam Noble Museum of Natural History(2401 Chautauqua Ave ~ Norman, OK) . No Admission Fee and Free parking available! Telescopes will be set up by various local groups outside. (See the list below!At this time, the forecast is for Arctic cold hitting Oklahoma. We have rented the foyer and restrooms of the Sam Noble Museum for the evening up until 11 p.m. to keep observers warm and give them a safe and warm place from which to observe. The rest of the Museum will be closed and off limits. We are hoping for clear skies!  Keep in mind that the next day is Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s Birthday so you will be off on Monday!! Yay!  Dress for very cold temperatures and hope for clear skies!

    • If you haven’t purchased your yearbook yet, go to jostens.com or see Mr. Oglesby in room C204.  Yearbooks are $65.00 until December 31.  They will go to $70.00 starting January 1.
