About This Framework
The goal of this Guided Inquiry and Making Framework is to provide school librarians, classroom educators, and administrators with the tools needed to begin implementing Guided Inquiry and Making in schools. On this site, we have provided detailed information on what these units looks like in practice, as well as resources to help you and your team design your own unit.

Although our framework and recommendations are specifically directed to regular PreK-12 classrooms and instruction that occurs during the school day, we recognize that our findings have value for multiple communities, such as school libraries in general, STEAM learning environments (public libraries, museums, and afterschool clubs), and other inquiry and Maker communities. In addition, although we use Guided Inquiry Design® as our inquiry model, we believe that other inquiry models can be successfully integrated with making.
