NAA FANS & COACHES OF THE YEAR – 2019-2020

     * Each year the Norman Athletic Association recognizes a coach and fan of the year from each respective high school for their accomplishments. Please support the NAA and our fans and their coaches.

Michael was born and raised in Norman graduating from Norman High in 1986, but he has been yelling, “Go T-wolves!” since the fall of 2010 when his daughter Michaela became a varsity starter on North’s fastpitch softball team her freshman year. His son Brooks, a 2019 North graduate, played four years of varsity baseball and 3 years of varsity football. From 2010-2019, Michael filled various roles on his children’s booster clubs including Fastpitch President, T-wolf Tunnel coordinator for football, and videoing baseball games for Twitter.  His wife of 27 years, Angela Smith, is an EL teacher at Truman and Reagan Elementary schools and has enjoyed serving along with Michael.  Michael has experienced MANY wonderful moments watching his T-wolves play but says his favorite would have to be beating Union at home on Brooks’s 16th birthday.

A’Licia is a 1995 graduate of Lindsay High School.  Whether it was on the field, court, or in the livestock show ring, she always displayed pride and enthusiasm for her school, which by no surprise led her to being voted “most school spirit”.  A’Licia has continued that same spirit with her children, Karic Gray  a senior linebacker at Norman High, and Kylan Gray a sophomore quarterback at Norman High.  A’Licia coached tball through Norman Parks & Rec, volunteered with multiple PTA’s,  and has held booster club officer positions at both Alcott and NHS.  She currently is president of NHS Football boosters.  A’Licia is thankful for her husband and best friend Heath of 22 years, who has supported her along the way, but most importantly been an amazing father and role model for their two boys.  A’Licia has many great memories throughout the years:  supporting students in need, team meals, The Duck Derby,  X Game championship, celebrating victories, but her favorite memory is the team send off for last year’s playoff game at Owasso.  She is thankful for the many parents who have volunteered throughout the years, specifically the Brunch Bunch 2020.  A’Licia  has harvested a renewed school spirit and pride within multiple programs, and has been instrumental in “RESTORING THE ROAR” at NHS.  FIGHT ON TIGERS!
