The Norman Public School District has launched a new mobile app to provide parents, students and families with the latest news and information about schools across the district. The free mobile app, which replaces SchoolWay, is available on both Apple and Android devices and was designed as a one-stop-shop for parents to access school news, calendars, Parent Portal accounts and lunch menus as well as information about fine arts and athletic programs.
“We understand how important it is for parents to be engaged in their child’s education,” said Dr. Nick Migliorino, Norman Public School District superintendent. “This is why we are working to enhance the communication platforms we provide for our families. With the implementation of our new mobile app, parents benefit from having critical information available to them when they need it.”
The mobile app features a real-time district news feed and can be customized by the user by selecting schools they are most interested in for news and updates. Users also can choose to receive push notifications to get breaking news, updates about school closures or even calendar changes.
Additionally, the district has partnered with SportsTalk Media to provide athletic apps for both high schools. Patrons can access scores, schedules, rosters, news and streaming services from their mobile device. These apps can be found within the district’s mobile app or downloaded separately.
Individuals are encouraged to download the district’s free mobile app, as well as athletic apps provided by SportsTalk, to their smart devices at the following links:
