Norman Public Schools' Modern Dance program at the high school level is one of only a few dance programs offered in Oklahoma schools. Students may enroll in Introduction to Modern Dance, Modern Dance I and progress to Modern Dance II. Both levels concentrate on skill development and expession, guide and encourage original choreography, and involve work individually and with a group. There are demonstration performances as well as a secondary All-City Modern Dance concert in the spring that combines the students from both high schools, and frequently includes a performance by university level or professional dancers.
