  • Madison Wellness Week 2020

Get ready Bulldogs, Wellness Week 2020 kicks off next Monday, October 26th. Last year we celebrated Red Ribbon Week but this year we are focusing on healthy habits that keep students safe, happy, and well. Each day next week, we will dress up and have a different wellness theme to focus on:

    • On Mindful Monday we will teach mindfulness and wear our best clothes like we did on picture day.

    • On Tasty Tuesday we will talk about healthy foods and recipes and wear red for public education.

    • On Wellness Wednesday we will teach physical wellness and wear PE/exercise clothes.

    • On Thoughtful Thursday we will talk about empathy, compassion, and healthy relationships and wear pajamas or a Madison shirt.

    • Flourish Friday will be the culmination of Wellness Week where the students will dress up as storybook characters and celebrate during their Fall Parties.

Please reinforce the importance of overall wellness with your children at home.

We can’t wait to celebrate with you all whether you are here in person or still learning virtually!

    Character Dress-Up Day Reminders

I wanted to take a moment to talk about our Fall Parties and Character Dress-Up day on Friday, October 30th. Dressing up at school is a memory from my own experiences as an elementary school student that has stuck with me through the years. While we are excited to create this opportunity for our students, I wanted to go over a couple reminders so that everyone’s experience that day is a fun one:

    • Weapons or replica weapons of any kind will not be allowed. Those items, if part of a child’s costume, should remain at home.
    • No masks or face paint will be allowed. We have students of all levels and ages at Madison and the last thing any of us want is for a student’s learning to be disrupted because they are scared or upset due to a costume in the building.

Help us to make our Fall Parties and Character Dress-Up Day a success for all students by remembering the requests made above.
